Featured is a wonderful Antique Swedish Barrel Knife.
- One of the most successful Eskilstuna cutlers was Johan Engström (1846 – 1915).
- Johan studied knife production in both Sheffield (G. Westerholm & Son) and Solingen.
- The company produced high-quality barrel knives and received international recognition at shows in Sweden, France, U.S.A., and Canada.
- Johan died in 1915 which marks the end of the Engström company.
- The beautiful Curly Birch handle nicely figured and without any noticeable damage or flaws.
- Bolsters fit tightly against the wooden barre with no play or gapping present.
- The brass liners, marked with JE / 1874 and arrow marks on one side and Joh. Engstrom / Eskilstuna / Sweden on other, are in excellent condition.
- The pin in barrel variety locking mechanism locks up tight and secure. Blade is marked Joh. Engstrom / Eskilstuna and shows only minimal wear associated with age.
- These knives were made in all different sizes.
