Featured is a wonderful EAPG Carnelian or Everglades pattern.

  • EAPG stands for Early American Pattern Glass which dates from 1850 until 1914.
  • EAPG is clear or colored pressed glass made in tableware or glassware matched sets.
  • There were a large number of glass factories producing beautiful pattern glass during the Victorian era.
  • Pattern: The original manufacturers name for this pattern is Carnelian.  This pattern is also known as Everglades.
  • Color: This EAPG Salt Shaker in the Carnelian or Everglades pattern is vaseline opalescent glass.
  • Design: scrolls with filigrees, flowers, and shells
  • This particular salt shaker is sometimes called Foggy Bottom because the base looks like it has fog in it. This may have been an experimental piece or just an unusual distribution of the opalescent.  This shaker is rare.
  • Salt Shakers are particularly desirable pieces to collect because they are small yet display the pattern well.
