Featured is a wonderful EAPG Cruet Tray in the Nestor pattern.
- EAPG stands for Early American Pattern Glass which dates from 1850 until 1914.
- EAPG is clear or colored pressed glass made in tableware or glassware matched sets.
- Every Victorian table had a castor set in the middle to hold salt and pepper shakers, oil and vinegar cruets and usually a container for mustard.
- Sometimes a bottle was filled with ‘castor’ sugar. This was made by pounding a sugar loaf with a mortar and pestle.
- Pattern: The original manufacturers name for this pattern was Nestor.
- Color: This EAPG Cruet Tray in the Nestor pattern is blue glass with gold.
- Design: large arched panels with a sawtooth edge
- Metal castor sets turned like a lazy Susan and had circular holes for the bottle to sit in. This was convenient for everyone sitting at the table to access the condiments.
